A new care home had been intended on this site on the edge of the surrey village of Windlesham since 2015. LNT Care Developments achieved planning permission in 2022 and appointed us to help them discharge landscape planning conditions.

The site was ecologically sensitive primarily due to the presence of reptiles. We provided carefully considered detailed planting plans aimed at finding a balance between formal residents gardens and the ecological requirements. The landscape design included sensory planting to benefit the residents health and well-being, and habitat rich planting to benefit the local wildlife.

We also produced a Landscape and Ecological Management Plan (LEMP) which provided detailed proposals for the maintenance and management operations. The plan will ensure that the habitat protection and creation proposals are managed correctly to maximise the ecological value of the site and ensure that biodiversity is enhanced and maintained in the long-term.
